Experience
Tutored music theory, sight singing, ear training, writing, Indonesian, English, literature. I graduated with high GPAs in high school, college, and graduate school. I have worked at the Academic Success and Advising Center at Northwest University for six years. That experience allowed me to learn about becoming a successful student and about tutoring. As part of my work there, I tutored students in Music. I also have experience tutoring and giving feedback on student's writing. I wrote a master's thesis as part of my graduate program, so I have a lot of experience writing and editing. A learner at heart, I enjoy studying about history and behavioral science in addition to my majors. In high school, I completed the full IB Diploma program. I understand the expectations and challenges involved in the IB Diploma program; I also have a clear understanding of skills students need to be successful in the program. I have experience with students of all ages, including experience with students requiring accommodations and students with English as a second (or third) language. My approach to teaching is best described as "hands-on," where there are a lot of discussion and interaction between student and tutor. I am keen on catering to the learning style of each student's unique learning style.
